Co-Located School-Based Mental Health Services: One of Durham Public Schools mental health programs is Co-Located Mental Health. This service is available to students who have written consent from parents and who are not already connected with a mental health provider. The co-located mental health agency in a school will offer the following services:

Comprehensive Assessment

Individual Therapy

Group Therapy

Family Therapy

Training and consultation for school staff and Multi-Tiered System of Support teams
How Can I Get a Student Services?

Contact your school social worker, counselor or principal or Durham Public Schools Mental Health Specialist, beatrice.laney@dpsnc.net or 560-2208 ext. 30223.

Students can be referred by the parent, teacher, student or other community persons familiar with the needs of the student

A consent form signed by the parent is needed to begin services

Individual student records are kept confidential and is not shared with school staff
Services are offered during school hours and often beyond for family convenience.
